Resurrecting multiple rundown bungalows by creating one vibrant commercial building.

Program: Located along a main road in Fullerton, just north of Disneyland, this site warranted combining several small California bungalow style buildings onto one double suite office building, to make it highly noticeable and understandable.

Solution: The major simple open A Frame form created a visual icon from even far away down the road. Designed to be distinctive as a destination, it also became an oasis away from traffic while unifiable understandable from all sides of arrival. Using limited parking setbacks, it was important to create visual and acoustic strategies to mask the interior from it’s exterior surroundings. This was in part accomplished through the application of a faux rock and water scape. Budget decisions required this to be adapted in the design process into a less expensive landscape solution that also suited the project.
